Bears held at pick number 10 last night and take Michigan TE Colston Loveland from Michigan. The pick shocked some as most had Loveland as the second rated tight end. And with Warren still available, it turned some heads. But the Bears got their guy.
So why Loveland? Coach Ben Johnson seems to think that his years at Michigan better suited him for the style of play over Warren and his time at Penn State. Johnson had a lot of success in Detroit with Sam Lapota, and the Bears are hoping that they can create some mismatches with both Loveland and Kmet on the field at the same time.
As of Friday morning, the Bears have 2 second round picks (7th and 9th).
